Based on a decision of the EYCA General Assembly, member organisations of the European Youth Card Association have the possibility to raise the age limit for the EURO<26 cardholders up to 30 years of age.
As there is no overall valid definition of the age group of „young people“ that would limit this group at 26, EYCA has chosen to follow the example of the European Commission, which in January 2007 changed the age limit for several youth actions to 30. EYCA saw the need for a change in order to remain an eligible partner for youth programmes such as the European Voluntary Service.
Also, a growing number of members are developing their „field of operation“ and need to serve also young people over the age of 26 (e.g. students), especially in cooperation with partners such as insurances and banks. The majority of EYCA’s member organisations have chosen to extend their offer for cardholders up to 30 – for details please see the attached document.
