Read more: At the Bern conference in November 2002, two new projects were proposed in the Partial Agreement budget of the Council of Europe: the 'Hospitality Points' and the 'Panel of Youth Correspondents'.
The Communications Group took the lead in these projects and turned them into one exciting project called EURplace26. A pilot project started in eight cities across Europe, providing EURplace26 locations for cardholders offering information services, free internet access and special EURO<26 privileges.
To make sure that young people know where to find their EURplace26 and to give them reasons to travel to one of the 8 cities, a team consisting of 'resident' young journalists and 'travelling' young journalists reported on all hot spots, events not to be missed, good budget accommodation, travel connections and, of course, EURO<26 discounts in each city.
The eight cities selected were: Budapest, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Graz, Ljubljana, Luxembourg, Prague, Zaragoza.
