EYCA’s partners in Europe EYCA works in partnership with other international bodies such as:
The Council of Europe Since 1988, the European Ministers responsible for Youth have endorsed the EURO<26 card. In 1991 this led to the adoption of a Partial Agreement on Youth Cards within the framework of the Council of Europe. Now EYCA co-operates with governments from 18 countries, which contribute to a yearly programme budget of approx. 130.000 Euro. This programme includes training programmes, cardholder exchanges, new technology developments and information for cardholders. Member States that join the Partial Agreement programme gain added benefits over the non-contributing countries and therefore do their young citizens the double favour of increasing the overall European potential of their youth card and creating concrete opportunities. For more detailed information, please see the Partial Agreement section.
The European Commission The European Commission has supported EYCA's youth card activities since 1985, including an agreement whereby all European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteers are provided with a youth card and back-up information services.
The Consortium on the Content of the European Youth Portal EYCA has formed a platform with two other European bodies working in the youth field. Regular communication ensures that we work together to benefit all the network members at national, regional and local level. Main focus is given to the organising the content of the European Youth Portal, which has been operated by the European Commission since May 2004. The networks involved are:
ERYICA - the European Youth Information and Counselling Association
Eurodesk – a European network for the dissemination of information on youth and education programmes of the European Commission
Other networking partners of EYCA include EUFED, the European Union Federation of Youth Hostel Associations.
