European Youth Cards for all Young Participants in the European Solidarity Corps.

The European Commission and EYCA have been cooperating for over 20 years united by the shared belief that volunteering and mobility are key components in creating a strong European identity.

Until December 2019, it is estimated that over 100.000 young people volunteering under the scope of the Erasmus+volunteering projects and European Voluntary Service have received a special edition of the European Youth Card.

The card is a token for the admirable work these amazing young people do, dedicating their time to improving communities abroad. Their card helps them experience and explore more during their travels and make the most of their time with the European Voluntary Service.

EVS and Beyond

The European Solidarity Corps brings together young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges. It offers an inspiring and empowering experience for young people who want to help, learn and develop.

As of 2020, the European Commission and EYCA agreed to continue a well-established partnership and contribute to the transition from the EVS programme towards the European Solidarity Corps. Additionally, we are invested in reducing our plastic footprint and do our small bit in fighting climate change, this is why  we have created a dedicated mobile application allowing ESC participants to retrieve their digital European Youth Card and see the discounts around them straight from their phone.

The Volunteering Awards

In 2015 we launched the Volunteering Awards - a platform to reward and promote the work of young people in Erasmus+ volunteering projects and the European Voluntary Service.

Each year, young people are invited to share their volunteering experience through a video encouraging other young people to start their own volunteering adventure. The most inspirational stories are rewarded with all-inclusive summer trips sponsored by EYCA member organisations.

Through the Awards, volunteers receive the recognition they deserve and other young people have the chance to be inspired and join European volunteering programmes such as the EVS and the European Solidarity Corps.

The next edition of the Volunteering Awards will be organised in 2022. STAY TUNED!
